Cabin

We had a fun four days at the cabin and had graet weather too. The blueberries were just starting to ripen and Kyla loved going blueberry picking out in front of the cabin. The kids stayed busy playing yard games (Boccee, Crouquet & Horse Shoes), going for boat rides, making smores and just running all around the cabin. Each night Kyla, Mason and Madeline got to have a slumber party and went to bed watching movies.

The first day we were there Papa found a frog and they all had fun holding it, the rest of the trip they searched everywhere looking for more frogs. They decided to name the frog Steve after Papa, and every other frog was either Steve's friend or Steve's brother.

The three of them had so much fun together and really enjoyed being at the cabin.

Kyla's New Dollhouse

Kyla loves her new dollhouse that she got for her birthday!!! She was so excited when she saw it and it instantly became her new favorite toy. There are so many fun rooms full of furniture and accessories and tons of dolls that go with it to keep her busy. It is a very cute dollhouse and there are so many extras that we can continue getting to go with it.

Grandma Karen, Papa, Grandma Mary and Grandad gave Kyla the dollhouse for her birthday. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa gave her the Kitchen, Aunt Carol got her the boys and girls rooms and we got her all of the rest of the rooms of furniture so that she would have the entire collection.

Kyla's 3rd Birthday!!!

Kyla had a great third birthday party at the Kenai River! She was so excited to turn three years old! She had a Little Mermaid/Princess Birthday Party with Mason and Madeline, Mommy and Daddy, Aunt Marcie and Uncle Chad, Grandma and Papa, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, Aunt Lynn, April, Michelle and Cody and Carl and Yolanda. She loved her Princess cake and Neopolitan Ice Cream and recieved lots of nice presents. Kyla got lots of new books, a ton of art supplies, a few new outfits, beads to make Jewlery, Ballet clothes, Super Sparkley lelli Kelly shoes, games and much more. Her really big present that was a dollhouse from both Grandma's and Grandpa's and all the furniture for it from Mommy & Daddy, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa and Aunt Carol. But she did not get that present until we were back home from our fishing trip.

Kenai River Fishing Trip

Jon and I were so excited to be able to go to my families annual fishing trip down at the Keani River. We had new fishing rods and reels and were ready to catch some salmon. A lot of our family was down at the river for about a week long trip and it was so much fun to see everyone. The first two days the limit was 3 fish each per day and then it went up to 6 fish a day for the remainder of our trip. We ended up with a ton of fish.

We went fishing pretty early each morning and it was earlier and earlier each day to assure that we got the fishing hole that we wanted, by the end of the trip we were getting in the boat at 4 am to go fish.

The kids had a lot of fun playing around the campground, fishing in the boat, making smores and playing with toys in the motorhome. We were really lucky and had great river the entire trip and spent most of our time outside. Kyla even had a salmon on her little barbie fishing pole. We were fishing for trout and Kyla kept catching little tiny fish that you could not even feel bite, so we just kept reeling the line in to see if she had one hooked. I went to reel her line in and through her hook was another fishing line that somebody had lost. I started pulling that line in with my hands to see if it had a lure on it that we would want and there was a good sized salmon on the end of the line. We did not have a fishing net in the boat so the salmon got to go free, but Kyla was super excited!

We now have more than enough Salmon to last us until next year and immediately had to go buy a freezer as soon as we got home to store it all in.
