Halloween Hollow

Halloween night we went to Halloween Hollow at the State Fair Grounds. The weather was awful, it was super cold and windy, so it was a good year to go somewhere indoors to celebrate Halloween. In the past we have always gone to the Zoo Boo, but we had a great time this year at Halloween Hollow. There were a ton of games and activities and Kyla ended up with a ton of treats and toys. We were there for a few hours and probably only made it to about half of the games. Kyla was not at all ready to leave when we did, but she was so excited when the minute we walked into our house that are doorbell was ringing and we had trick or treaters at the doors. We ended up with probably about 15 trick or treaters in total and they all recieved one or two handfuls of candy from Kyla. She was so excited about handing out candy to the trick or treaters, we really didn't expect to have any trick or treaters with the bad weather and since we live on such a dark road with no street lights, but parents drove their kids house to house for trick or treating.

School Halloween Party

Kyla's Preschool had a fun Halloween Party for the kids. They got to come to school in their costumes and had a regular school day for the first half of the day and then after a Halloween snack time most of the parents came back to school and we had a ton of fun games set up for them to play, Halloween art projects and lots of yummy treats. Kyla loved that all three girls in the class were princesses. Her and her best friend at school Mallory were Snow White and her other friend Ava was Belle.

Old Town Autumn Fest Trick or Treat

Today We went to the Old Town Autumn Fest Trick or Treating in the Historic Town Site and Museum. Kyla got to decorate a bag to use for trick or treating with stickers. Next we went trick or treating around all of the historic buildings and then stopped in the last one for cookies and hot apple cider. We went on a hay ride and then went in the museum for games and face painting. Kyla was a very pretty Snow White and had lots of fun.

Halloween Pumpkins

We had a good time decorating pumpkins this year. Kyla loves helping with carving pumpkins, but since she can't do much of it herself we did some different pumpkins this year that she could do by herself. She really liked the princess potato head set for her pumpkin and had lots of fun poking all of the pieces into the pumpkin. The next pumpkin we did was a bat using pegs similar to lite brite pegs that you hammer into the pumpkin. All I did was barely poke them into the pumpkin and then she hammered them all in, it is really cool looking when the candle is on inside it. She had made a cat pumpkin with the same pegs and Grandmas house that also turned out really cute. We still wanted to carve one pumpkin and Kyla decided she wanted it carved to look like a lion, so I left this one up to her and Daddy. The Lion turned out very cute and Kyla was very happy with it. She is also going to decorate a pumpkin at school this week, so she will have decorated five pumpkins this Halloween!

First Snowman of the Year

Kyla is so excited for winter to be here. We spent the night at my moms house one night a couple weeks ago, Jon and I went out to a concert and dinner and Kyla stayed with Grandma. That night when we got back it was snowing, but Kyla was still sleeping. So first thing in the morning I opened the blinds for her to see outside and she was so excited and wanted to immediately go out and play. She wanted her little shovel and she shoveled some of the snow off the deck. The snow melted within a couple days and we have just had a couple snowy days since, not much accumulation at all.

Last week we were at Ethan and Ellas house and there was a little snow on the ground and Kyla so badly wanted to go build a snowman. So we rolled most of the snow up off the grass into a small snowman. Kyla rolled the snow balls and helped find twigs for the arms. She had so much fun playing in the snow, hopefully we will get some more snow soon.

Build-A-Bear Workshop

The three of us went to Anchorage to go to lunch and the museum. We played around in the imaginarium for awhile, until Kyla got bored. The last time we went she had her cousins with her, so after awhile she said the museum was boring, so now we know for next time we need to go with other kids. We left the imaginarium and went over to Build-A-Bear since Kyla had a gift card left over from in her Easter basket  from Grandma Mary and Grandad Brian. She chose a orange bear with pumpkins all over it and dressed it in a pumpkin costume. It is very cute, she named it Pumpkin Bear and so far it has gone everywhere with her, even to show and tell at her preschool. She had a lot of fun decorating the box that the bear comes home in, she colored almost the entire box.

Playdate Fun

Kyla had such a great time having a playdate with her cousin Adriana. They played with about every toy that Kyla has and talked for hours. They love playing together and it was so fun to watch them play together and listen to their conversations.

Fall Leaves

Kyla helped us with raking leaves on Saturday and dump them into a big pile in the backyard for her to jump in. She had so much fun playing in the leaves and throwing them at Daddy while he took pictures of her.
