Too Much Fun!!!

We just got back from our vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We had a wonderful time on our vacation and had wonderful weather everyday. It was so nice to see so much family while we were there. We were in Cabo for Jon's cousins wedding. The wedding was beautiful. The ceremony took place on the beach. The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour around the pool (where I spend an hour chasing Kyla around the pool to make sure she didn't dive in) and a fun reception with a great dinner and lots of dancing. Kyla seemed to have a good time in Mexico, she enjoyed the warm weather, swimming in the pool and playing in the sand. However, there were also a lot of late dinners and a dinner sunset cruise so she was out later than her bedtime every night. At dinner one night we had a Marriachi band singing to us and Kyla thought it was the greatest thing ever. She just stood there staring at them smiling, clapping and even playing the guitar while they sang. She loves music, but she thought it was much better having it played for her.

One morning Jon, his cousin Erin and I went for a kayaking trip out to the rocky area that seperates the sea of cortez from the pacific ocean. We went out and saw the arch, sea lion colony and stopped at lovers beach. On the trip we also saw a few dolphins. Kyla spent the morning with Grandma and Grandad at the pool while we were out. Kyla did go on a few boat rides herself though, we took a water taxi from town to the hotel one afternoon and she went on the suset cruise.

On our Vacation besides celebrating Jon's cousin Chris and Lindas wedding we also celebrated Jon's first fathers day and our four year anniversary. For fathers day we had a nice relaxing day to ourselves at the pool and lunch poolside. Kyla got Jon Reef Flip Flops with a bottle openers on the soles, which came in handy for Jon in Mexico and a box of Caramels from See's. Jon and Kyla spent a lot of time swimming around in the pool and had a great time. Happy Fathers Day Jon!!!

June 24 was our four year anniversary. However, it also happened to be his cousins bachelor party and his fiance's bachelorette party. In the morning we decided we would spend the morning celebrating with them and meet up midday to celebrate us. Jon and all of the guys went to a beach bar to hang out for the morning and the girls hung out poolside at the hotel. Jon and I took a carriage pulled by a bicycle into town and walked around the marina and then went to dinner. At the end of dinner we saw that the entire wedding group was having dinner next door so we went over their to visit with everyone and listen to the Mariachhi band play.

We had a great time on vacation and were able to see Jon's parents, grandma, aunt, uncle and several cousins. Kyla has now been on nine vacations and has another one later this week. On thursday we will be heading up to Alaska to visit my family and attend my best friend Jessica's wedding, and maybe an early birthday party!

Kyla is now 11 months old. I can not believe that she is this close to turning 1, it seems like I just was pregnant with her. This month if I had to pick one word to descibe her it would be CURIOUS. She is curious about everything. She is exploring and getting into everything. It is hard to get upset with her because we know she is so innocent, but we are trying to set boundaries as well. She has learned how to remove electrical plug covers, but thankfully has not tried to put anything in the plugs. She has also enjoyed unrolling the toilet paper, removing everything from the cabinets, opening and turning on the dishwasher, opening the oven and so much more. Kyla has also learned how to throw a fit when you do not let her do what she wants to do. We try our best not to react to her when she is throwing a fit, but sometimes it is hard not to laugh.

We have had awful weather here the past few weeks. We have rain everyday and a lot of thunder and lightening too, so we have not been able to spend much time outside. When the weather is nice we head out onto the patio to play for awhile. Kyla is also just getting over being sick. She most likely had Rotavirus, so she is just getting back to herself just in time to go on a vacation to Cabo. We will be leaving on Sunday for a week vacation for jon's cousins wedding. We are looking forward to a week in the sun and lots of time in the pool. Jon's parents have not seen her since April and I sure they will be amazed by how much she has grown in this short time. In April Kyla was barely walking, but is now walking and running everywhere. She also enjoys babbling and playing games like peek-a-boo. Her favorite toys are now stacking toys and books. She loves other kids and has so much fun chasing them around and holding their hands. We are so happy to have such a wonderful daughter.

Swim Lessons

Kyla loves to float on her back

Singing and playing in the pool

Kyla has had enough swimming for the day!

Kyla is having a great time learning to swim. She enjoys the lessons that we go to twice a week and is doing great. The babies are currently working on holding their breath under water, turning onto their backs and floating on their backs. Kyla is great at rolling onto her back and can do it on her own. She can float on her back with very little assistance. Today Kyla swallowed a little too much water with all of the underwater swimming she was doing and ended up throwing up at the pool. But she was a good sport and wanted right back in the water afterwards. Jon came to the lessons with us today and was happy to see Kyla having fun in the water. From now on he is going to do all the Tuesday lessons and I will do the Thursday ones.
