Fun in the Sprinkler

Gone Fishing...

Kyla is excited for her 3rd birthday in three weeks! We will be down at the Kenai River fishing during her birthday and will have her party down there. She is excited to play with her Barbie fishing pole and Barbie tacklebox. Yesterday we took her down to the pond at our house to let her play around with her fishing gear and got some great pictures of her to use on her birthday party invitations. She already looks like a true fisherwoman!

Bear Valley Park: Day 1 of Grandma Mary's Visit

Kyla had a very fun time with Grandma Mary while she was here visiting us. We stayed busy during her four day visit to Alaska. On her first day here we went to Bear Valley park in the morning to play. Afterwards we went to lunch, the zoo and to my parents house for dinner. The next day we went to Seward to hike Exit Glacier, went to lunch and to the Sea Life Center. The next day we went to Kyla's gymnastics and art classes and then went downtown to a Summer Solstice Festival, the farmers market and out to a nice seafood dinner to celebrate our 6 year anniversary.

We had so much fun all weekend and Kyla absolutely loved having her Grandma Mary around to play with. The last night that she was here Kyla had a sleepover with her on the blow up bed in our living room. We are already looking forward to our trip to Seattle in August.

We drove to Seward on Friday to enjoy a beautiful day. The weather was very sunny and warm. We hiked up to Exit Glacier with Kyla in the backpack the entire way. The hike was very pretty.

After our hike we went into the town of Seward for lunch, Ice Cream and to walk around on the docks enjoying the view and looking at all of the fishing boats, sailboats, yachts and cruise ships.

We also went to the Seards Sea Life Center, which was a ton of fun. We had never been there before and really enjoyed our visit. Kyla just loved looking at all of the fish, sea creatures and birds. I think her favorites were the puffins that were diving under water to catch fish and the blue king crab. She really liked feeling the starfish in the hands on exhibit. She was very interested in all of the exhibits and wanted to know what everything was. We will definitly be going back to Sea Life Center again with her.

Summer Solstice: Day 3 of Grandma Mary's Visit

On Saturday we had a very busy and fun day! We had Kyla's gymnastics class first thing in the morning, and Grandma Mary came with us to watch Kyla do gymnastics. After Gymnastics we had art class and played for a little while in the store. Afterwards we went downtown to the summer solstice festival and farmers market. Kyla got to do a lot of really fun stuff downtown. She got to have a bunny sit on her lap for her to pet, go in the petting zoo and feed a baby sheep a bottle.

She had a lot of fun blowing bubbles and then got to play in a giant sand box that was built for the festival. Kyla also got to go in a kayak in a big swimming pool and paddle around. Her favorite part of the festival was an obstacle course and slide, which she did once with Mommy and once with Daddy.

After the festival we walked around the farmers market. Later that night we went back downtown to eat dinner at Glacier Brewhouse as an early celebration of our six year anniversary.
