ZOO BOO

Halloween night we went to Zoo Boo to go trick or treating. This year Sarah, Greg, Ethan, Ella, Kyla, Mommy and Daddy and Grandma all went there together. The weather was really cold and it was snowing pretty hard by the time we got about half way through the zoo, but we all had a great time. Kyla was dressed as a bunny and wore a cute real rabbit fur jacket that we received as a handy down. Kyla was dressed warm enough to do lots of trick or treating, the hardest part was she kept wanting to take her gloves off to eat candy. She got lots and lots of candy and we had fun seeing all of the animals up and moving around at night. Now we want to head back to the zoo soon to see the zoo lights that they have for the holiday season.

Kyla dressed as a cute little bumble bee for her schools Halloween Carnival. Her favorite color is yellow and she wanted to sting people was her reason for choosing to be a bumble bee. Of course she would not wear her antennas because she cannot stand to wear a headband, but she was a very cute little bee! She had fun playing all of the games over and over again at the carnival and filling her bag full of toys and some candy. She did the cupcake walk twice and won cupcakes. We also had a pizza dinner and root beer floats and had pictures taken. She liked seeing her friends from school in their costumes. For days after the carnival she kept saying to me that she wanted to go to the Halloween carnival at school again.

Pumpkin Carving

Kyla had a great time helping us gut and carve pumpkins. She had got a pumpkin at a fall festival, but she chose to get the smallest pumpkin they had, so we went and bought two more at the store. She liked grabbing all of the seeds out of the pumpkins and helping us get them cleaned up to bake. Kyla chose to the two pictures that we carved and helped as much as she could. She absolutly loves everything about Halloween.

Hotel Alyeska

Kyla, Jon and I went to Alyeska to spend the night on Saturday. Jon was photographing a murder mystery Halloween party at the resort and Kyla and I decided to tag along and hang out at the hotel. At first Kyla was perfectly happy just sitting in the room doing art projects, we had to do our best to convince her to leave the room. We walked around the shops and got candy and then Kyla and I headed to the swimming pool. Kyla really has not swam much and hates getting her face wet. But she did so good in the pool this time! She had on her new arm floaties that we got her and she was kicking all around the pool. She made a friend at the pool and the two of them were kicking all around, they were racing each other from one end of the pool to the other, spinning in circles and jumping off of the side of the pool, and she was even getting her face wet! Sometimes she wanted me to catch her when she jumped in and other times she would go under the water and then pop up. She even borrowed the boys goggles and looked under the water a few times. I was so excited to see her having so much fun in the pool. I think it might be time to give swim lessons another try and for us to start heading to the pool more often for open swim.

After swimming Kyla and I went and got some dinner and then headed back to the room to do more art projects, play polly pockets and read books. In the morning we woke up to SNOW!!! It had snowed about 6 inches and was still snowing hard. So, we got up went to breakfast and then played outside in the snow until it was time to check out and head home. We had a really fun time staying at the hotel, it was to bad (for us) that Jon had to work, but we had a great time anyway.

Dance Class

Kyla is such a cutie when she goes to dance class. She wears a different tutu almost every time that we go! She likes dance class and is starting to really learn both the ballet and the tap dances that they are being taught for their performance. She is one of the younger ones in the class and one of the only ones that have not done dance before she also does a lot of watching the other kids, but she is trying. We were so use to seeing her in gymnastics where she was the star in the class. I asked her if she wanted to switch back to gymnastics, but she says she really likes dance. We were just given the songs for both dances they are learning so that she can practice at home and it is adorable to watch.

Giddy-Up Horse

Kyla saw this old horse from when my sister and I were little kids in the basement of my parents house and had to get it out to bring upstairs to play with. It has now become one of her favorite toys and she can really make it bounce. She likes to play with some of the old toys that my mom hung on to and she always says to me "You saved this so I could play with it".
