Thanksgiving Weekend at the cabin

Helping Daddy Shovel

We had another great weekend at the cabin! We headed to the cabin as soon as we were done eating on Thanksgiving and stayed for two nights. There was a lot of new snow at the cabin and sledding and snowmachining was great. Jon went out for a big ride with Steve and his friends and had a really good time. One of the nights we went to my parents friends cabin and Kyla got to play with Genevieve, Paisley and Madeline who are 7, 8 and 12. She had a ton of fun playing with them, coloring and doing puzzles. She would copy everything that Genevive would do, it is always so cute watching her with other kids.

Last week at the cabin Kyla and I were riding and got stuck, this week I got stuck again and when my mom was going to help get me out Kyla said "I want to pull the ski". She had watched Papa pull the ski to get me unstuck the week before and remembered and wanted to come help me. There was a ton of new snow so snowmachining was a little tough this week, plus the lakes were not completely frozen after the warm weather we had.

Kyla had so much fun at the cabin and is already talking about going back. The other day in car we were talking and then she said "I can't wait to go to the cabin tommorrow". I told her we were not going this weekend and she started to cry. We are planning to go back for New Years and she is very anxious to go.

Happy Thanksgiving

I did not get pictures of everybody. Michelle, Paul and Paul (Kyla called them double Paul), April's fiance Travis, Ashley's boyfriend Adrian and Papa were all there too, but I just did not take many pictures.

We had a great Thanksgiving Day at my Grandparents house. After a week of rain and warm weather all of our snow had melted, but we woke up Thanksgiving to a foot of new snow and it was looking like winter again! We visited with family for several hours and had a great feast. Kyla had fun visiting with all the family and being the center of attention. She just learned to sign the entire ABC song so she sang it for everyone a couple of times and loved having everyone clap for her. She had a ton of fun with our cousin Ashley and talked about her for a few days after seeing her. It was great to see everyone for Thanksgiving since we will not be there for Christmas this year.

Kyla and I went with my parents to their cabin in Pertersville for a few days to enjoy the snow. Kyla was so excited to go snowmachineing! We got to go snowmachining each day and sledding a couple of times. It was a lot of fun, but we can't wait for a little more snow! Kyla had lots of fun on the snowmachine and would sing and talk a lot and then suddenly fall asleep! She fell asleep almost everytime that we went for a ride. She has not taken a nap for a week so she is tired and would doze off for a few minutes and then as soon as we would get off the machine she was wide awake again. The first time that she did it, she woke up as we were getting off the snowmachine and said "I fell asleep on the snowmachine, Thats Silly!".

While at the cabin we had a early Thanksgiving dinner at my parents friends cabin and got to see the most amazing outhouse in the world. It looked like a castle with fairy's, butterflies, trees, sound machine, hot running water and much more. Kyla had a good time at their cabin. She also kept wanting to play nintendo wii, she did not quite understand how to play but she really like standing on the balance board with a remote! As always we had a great time at the cabin and are going to head back next week after Thanksgiving dinner for a few more days, and this time Daddy gets to go too!

Kyla's Favorite's

Kyla loves stickers...
Everyday we play with stickers, she puts them on paper, on her clothes and on her face. We have a ton of stickers and they can really keep Kyla busy.

Kyla loves singing...
Kyla has a cute little princess CD player and she likes to choose what songs she wants to listen to and find that CD and then dance and sing. Her favorite songs to sing are If your happy and you know it, Here we go 'round the mulberry bush, Rubber Ducky your the one, Happy Birthday, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old MacDonald, Rain Rain Go Away, The meatball song and Skidamarink. She is learning more and more songs all the time!

Kyla loves art...
Kyla loves to paint, color with markers and crayons, trace her hands and feet, decorate her pictures with stickers and now also likes to practice cutting and glueing. She is becoming quite the little artist.

Kyla loves animals...
She loves dogs so much, she get so excited when we see dogs. When we are in the car and pass somebody walking their dog she asked me to turn around so she can see the dog again. She also loves moose and luckily gets to see a lot of moose in the yard and when we are driving. She loves birds and gets so excited and starts laughing whenever we see them, she always says they are "funny birds". Everytime that we pass a horse stable or a girl riding her horse on the side of the road Kyla goes crazy. She gets sooo excited and begs and begs to go ride a horse. We went past a horse stable the other day and she said "Let's go check it out, looks fun!" She is a huge animal lover!

Kyla loves books...
We are finally getting into a good nighttime routine with Kyla. All summer she was staying up until 11:30 at night and would not relax. Now each night we get into my bed around 9:00 and read anywhere from 4-20 books each night until she falls asleep. She has her favorites that she likes to read everyday and even has some of them almost memorized.

Kyla loves Babysongs DVD's...
Kyla's Grandma Mary sent her a DVD that is all singing and kids playing and Kyla loves it! She watches it everyday just before nap time and it is the only way she take a nap.

Kyla loves Memory...
We play memory with princess and dora memory cards all the time. We leave all the cards face up and Kyla just finds all the matches. She loves it!!! She gets so excited when she finds the matches and starts screaming and jumping up and down, it is so funny to watch.

Kyla loves bathtime...
She gets so excited to take a bath! She helps me fill the tub with water, add bubbles and put all her toys in each time. She can stay in the tub happily for an hour. She loves bubbles and also likes washing herself with her washclothes. While in the bath we sing all kinds of songs too.

Kyla loves BandAids...
It is amazing how fast we can go through a box of bandaids!!! Kyla loves Dora and Princess BandAids and everytime that she barely bumps herself she has to have a bandaid. She has to pick it out herself and put it on herself and then usually within a minute she is all better and takes it off, until she bumps herself again and again and again...

Kyla loves tutu's...
Kyla wears tutu's morning, day and night! Kyla has a lot of tutu's and wears them with dresses, pants and shirts and pajamas, she sometimes even wears as many as three tutu's at once. She has a very creative style when it comes to her clothes!

The list could go on and on and on (phones, jewelery, dress up, trains, airplanes, play-doh, chalk board, puzzles...) with the things that Kyla loves, but I just thought it would be fun to share a few of her favorite things that are part of are every day activities.

Fun in the Snow

We had fun at Grandma's house playing in all the new snow last weekend. Kyla got a new shovel from Grandma and had a lot of fun shoveling snow off the deck and walkway. Jon had just shoveled off their deck and then Kyla was making him shovel snow back onto the deck for her to shovel off. We also sledded up and down the driveway, had snow ball fights, Kyla made snow angles and had fun jumping off of the porch into the snow. As always Kyla had a great time playing in the snow.
