Alyeska Blueberry Festival

My Mom, Jon, Kyla and I went to the blueberry festival at Alyeska resort. We walked around the booths, had a snack and took Kyla to the kids zone to color stickers and decorate her blueberry picking bucket. It was a nice little festival that none of us had been to before. We then took the chairlift up the mountain to go blueberry picking. We took a little path in the trees that designed for biking with lots of bridges to cross looking for blueberries. There were not too many blueberries to pick, but we had a nice little walk down the mountain anyway. We did have enough blueberries to make blueberry pancakes the next morning.

Seattle and Canada Trip

Jon, Kyla and I went to Seattle for a four day weekend to visit family and attend his cousin Ryan's Wedding in Canada. We had a great time and as always fit as much visiting with everyone as we could into a short trip.

Thursday morning are day started with Rory and Lauren coming over to spend the day with Kyla, Mary and me, while Jon worked all day. We went to the zoo and had so much fun. Kyla got to see all of the animals that we do not have at our zoo, like elephants, giraffes, hippos, flamingos, monkeys, gorillas, reptiles, turtles... She always see's those animals in all of our books that talk about zoo's and it is so funny because now she will go through the books and tell me which animals are at our zoo and which ones are at her cousins zoo. Later in the day Grandma Helen, David & Lisa, Brad & Shannon and all their kids came over for Dinner at Brian and Mary's and we had a little birthday celebration for Kyla.

Friday we went down to the village for the girls to play on the playground and to do a little shopping and get lunch. That evening we went to watch Lauren at her water ballet performance, it was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. we loved watching all of the groups perform, but Lauren was especially great. Kyla absolutely loved it and sat so still the entire time, afterwards she said she wanted to do water ballet too, however first she needs to learn to swim. She was even pretending to do some of the things that the kids were doing in their performances as she watched, it was a lot of fun.

Saturday we drove up to Canada for Ryans wedding, we had a pretty full day between the drive up there, the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. It was a beautiful ceremony and Jon's cousin Peter was the Priest. We really enjoyed seeing so much of the family that we usually only get the chance to see every other year in Sunriver. The cocktail hour and reception were also a lot of fun and in such a beautiful place right on the water. We were very happy that we had the chance to go to their wedding.

Sunday we headed back to Seattle early and went over to David and Lisa's house for lunch more visiting and watching the blue angels fly over their house. As always it was hard to leave and Kyla had such a great time being spoiled by her cousins every second of the day. We had a great time!

Cabin

We had a fun four days at the cabin and had graet weather too. The blueberries were just starting to ripen and Kyla loved going blueberry picking out in front of the cabin. The kids stayed busy playing yard games (Boccee, Crouquet & Horse Shoes), going for boat rides, making smores and just running all around the cabin. Each night Kyla, Mason and Madeline got to have a slumber party and went to bed watching movies.

The first day we were there Papa found a frog and they all had fun holding it, the rest of the trip they searched everywhere looking for more frogs. They decided to name the frog Steve after Papa, and every other frog was either Steve's friend or Steve's brother.

The three of them had so much fun together and really enjoyed being at the cabin.

Kyla's New Dollhouse

Kyla loves her new dollhouse that she got for her birthday!!! She was so excited when she saw it and it instantly became her new favorite toy. There are so many fun rooms full of furniture and accessories and tons of dolls that go with it to keep her busy. It is a very cute dollhouse and there are so many extras that we can continue getting to go with it.

Grandma Karen, Papa, Grandma Mary and Grandad gave Kyla the dollhouse for her birthday. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa gave her the Kitchen, Aunt Carol got her the boys and girls rooms and we got her all of the rest of the rooms of furniture so that she would have the entire collection.
