Flower Girl

Kyla was a flower girl in our cousin Ashley's wedding to Scott on July 7, 2012. Ashley was a beautiful bride and Kyla was a beautiful flower girl too. We had a wonderful day even though it poured during the outdoor ceremony. Kyla and the ring bearer Noah had a great time playing together at the rehersal and during the wedding.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun and pretty relaxed fourth of July. We went to fireworks in Wasilla at midnight to ring in Independence Day. I was surprised that Kyla was able to stay up so late to go, even Jon fell asleep and had to be woken up to go. She was so excited about them that she would not let herself go to sleep, so we just dressed her in pajamas and brushed her teeth before we went so that she could just fall asleep on the way home, and that is what she did. She really liked the fireworks and it was actually a pretty good show for how light it still is here at midnight. Unfortunately Kyla was pretty tired all day long on the 4th as a result of staying up for fireworks, so instead of heading to the parade and all the festivities in downtown we decided to just stay home. I worked in the garden for awhile putting up a trellis for the peas and getting rid of moss under the raspberries, Kyla played on her swingset and Jon barbecued us a good lunch. Afterwards we lit off fireworks in the backyard and sat by the fire and played games and roasted marshmallows.

Soccer Girl

Kyla has been having a great time playing soccer. She absolutely hates her soccer shoes, shin guards and soccer shorts, but once she finally has them all on and gets on the field she is fine. She really likes her new friends on her team and has been pretty outgoing compared to other group settings she has been in. She particularly likes a girl on the team named Ali, they always put their chairs on the sidelines next to each other and always want to sit out at the same time as each other. Until this past week Kyla was the leading goal scorer, but this past game a few of the kids who have been having a tough time finally got the idea of the game and scored tons of goals. It was by far the best game that they had played this season. I can't believe we only have three games left, and we are going to miss the last one. Kyla has been having so much fun in soccer that I hate to see it end. I think in the fall we will get her back in to gymnastics and swimming.

Manicure with Ashley

Kyla is going to the flower girl in Ashley and Scott's Wedding on Saturday and today Ashley treated Kyla to a manicure. Kyla got to choose the color and picked a bright neon pink, but it actually looks pretty good with the color of dress she will be wearing. She did very well getting her manicure and held very still while she had her nails shaped and painted. She also was very patient letting them dry under the UV light. She did much better then how wiggly she is when I paint her nails. Her nails look very cute! We did have to make a stop at a beauty supply store afterwards to buy the same nail polish that they used so that I could touch up her nails before her big day as a flower girl!

Kyla's fun day with her friends

Kyla loves to have her friends Ethan and Ella over to our house to play. They came over the other day and they had so much fun playing in the backyard on Kyla's swingset and in her sandbox. After lunch we played in Kyla's room with a bunch of her toys and then went to the A-Moose-Ment park, one of Kyla's favorite parks. The three of them had so much fun at the park, we ended up staying for more then three hours. After the park we went over to the old train depot so they could play around on the old train engine. All three of them fell asleep as soon as they got into the car after their fun and busy day.

Enjoying the sunshine at Grandmas house

We had a fun day at Grandmas house enjoying the sun. We played boccee ball and ladder ball out on her front lawn and then even got the Dora sprinkler out for Kyla to play in for a few minutes until she got to wet and cold. Kyla went in her little wading pool in the greenhouse and enjoyed the warm weather. We went in the hot tub and then stayed the night. Kyla loves to stay the night at Grandma and Papa's house and always loves going in the hot tub.
