Easter Saturday

Saturday morning we celebrated Easter at our house. When Kyla woke up in the morning she had a note from the Easter Bunny giving her a clue to where her Easter Basket was hidden. It said "Hop, Hop, Hop, Hop High and Hop Low, Look for a basket full of goodies near a window". She came running to find her basket but got a little confused because she had two other Easter Baskets in the room and she was just so excited because of all the eggs she could see. The Easter Bunny hid about a dozen eggs that we had dyed the night before and about 30 plastic eggs.

Kyla was so excited each time she found an egg and had to open them all up immediately to see what was hidden inside. She would clap her hands each time she opened an egg because she was so happy. She was so funny, she made seperate piles for each thing that she had got out of her eggs, she had one pile of M&M's, one of chocolate bunnies, one pile of stickers, one of Tattoos and one with money. Each time she opened an egg the contents went right to the correct pile. I think she must be picking up on how organized I am.

Kyla did not even notice her Easter Basket until we only had three left eggs left to find. She was very excited because she got an instrument set with her Easter Basket. Kyla plays instruments at gymnastics and loves them. She also got more candy, chalk, play-doh and bubbles.

From Grandma Mary and Grandad Brian she recieved a cute dress, princess dominoes, princess books and a princess magnet dress up doll. She was so happy with all of her gifts.

After our morning Easter Egg hunt we had a big Easter breakfast. I made Eggs Benedict, Roasted Asparagus, Brown Sugar glazed Grapefruit and Mimosa's. Then we headed to a community easter egg hunt. Sunday morning we are going to an Easter Egg hunt at Alyeska Resort where Jon was asked to photograph the event. After the egg hunt we will head to Grandma Elsie and Grandpa Dave's house for an Easter Brunch with family.

Decorating Easter Eggs

Kyla had a great time hard boiling eggs and dyeing them for Easter. This was the first time that she has dyed Easter Eggs and she was so interested in it. We had three different types of egg dye, a tye dye one, the regular dye tablets and one that you just shake the egg in a bag of dye. She loved doing all three types. She was very detailed in decorating the eggs and had to make sure that each one was perfect with no white left showing. We had a great time and the eggs turned out looking good!

Kids Day at the Zoo

We went to the zoo for Kids Day and had a great time. It was very busy since it was free admission for kids, but I really wanted to go since it was such a beautiful day. At the zoo they had games, face painting, animals out for walks with zoo keepers and all kinds of fun activities. They also had the petting zoo open, but all they had in there were goats. Kyla was very happy to pet the goats. She had so much fun and when we left she said "I want to go to the zoo again next time". I'm not sure if she meant tommorrow or what she meant by next time, we go to the zoo pretty frequently.

Spring Time

We are enjoying spring now that we are having beautiful sunny days and temperatures in the 40's. We have spent a lot more time outdoors in the past week. We have been having fun playing outside at the park, riding bikes, blowing bubbles and going to the zoo. Kyla got a new bubble blower from gymboree and was so excited about it because it is the same one her gymnastics teacher uses to blow bubbles with at the end of each class.

Kyla has seen all the people out on bikes now that the snow is melting and really wanted to get her bike out too. We went out riding it around and she is learning how to pedal. By the time it is summer I am sure she will be crusing all over on her tricycle. It has been really sunny so we have gone over to my moms house so that Kyla can play in her water table in the greenhouse where is it close to 100 degrees. Kyla gets to play in the water in her swimsuit and it is only in the 40's outside. We are ready for summer!

Just Relaxing and finishing off her lunch in the car after a busy day

Kyla had a great time making an Easter Bunny at Build a Bear Workshop. My Mom, Kyla and I all went to build a bear for her second time. As soon as we walked in the door she immediatley picked out the same bunny I was hoping she would get for Easter. After stuffing her bear and putting it's heart inside of it she got to go give it a bath and pick out clothes. Kyla picked out a princess tank top and a matching tutu skirt for her bunny to wear. Kyla was able to help me on the computer to create her bunnies birth certificate since it asks you to press different shaped keys to answer the questions. With some help she named her bunny Daisy. My mom and I kept telling her different Bunny names and she kept saying no, her bunny has daisys all over it so she liked the name daisy. On the way to pay for our bunny she also ended up picking out some daisy bows for her bunny to wear in her ears and a mini easter basket for her bunny to match the one that came with her bunny.

Kyla loves bunnies, she still sleeps with her bunny that she has had since she was a baby and always needs a bunny when she is tired or sad. She cuddled with her new bunny and her old bunny at bed time and went to Grandma's the next day and as soon as they pulled out of the driveway she noticed she had forgot Daisy so they had to turn around and come back to get her because Kyla "needed" her.

Kyla was a little tired when we were at build a bear because she did not take a nap and we had a busy day. We had already played at home for hours and then went grocery shopping, to art class, to Grandma's house, lunch and on a shopping spree at Gymboree. Gymboree was having such a great sale that I pretty much bought everything that they had in her size. I ended up with two big shopping bags packed full of clothes. Kyla has been growing so fast lately and has outgrown a lot of her clothes. We ended the day with going back to Grandma's house to play out in the crazy weather, we went outside and it was nice and sunny and in about the hour we were outside we also had snow, hail and rain.

Waiting for Papa to fix her Kitty Cat

Kyla and I decided to go up to Petersville to the cabin so that she could get out and ride her new snowmachine. She had a great time towing us behind her back and forth across the lake. The first day out there she would stop and go, stop and go... Her thumb was hurting from holding in the throttle so she kept taking breaks. She would either go full speed or nothing. Day 2 she was starting to get the hang of how to drive her new snowmachine when it broke down and we had to wait all day for Papa's friend to pick up new parts for it on their way to the cabin. On day 3 she was doing awesome driving her snowmachine. At one point she drove from the cabin to one end of the lake, turned the machine herself and went all the way to the other end of the lake, turned around again and went back to the cabin all without even stopping. She also learned that she did not have to go full throttle and that made for a much smoother ride. She had a great time at the cabin and still enjoyed going on rides on the big snowmachines as well. Now it's time to put her Kitty Cat away until next winter since all of our snow is finally melting!
