Glowing Pumpkin!

We had a great time carving pumpkins for Halloween at Grandma's house. Kyla was not so sure about touching the gooey stuff and seeds, but really liked the "shovel" that we had to scoop them out and did her best to help. Kyla also picked out the pumpkin faces that she wanted mommy and daddy to carve. She watched very closely as we carved the pumpkins and really wanted to help cut them. She was pretty excited to see the finished pumpkins with candals in them and had a hard time deciding which one we would take home and which one we would leave at Grandma's house. Kyla loves pumpkins and gets so excited when we go the store and she sees pumpkins. Kyla has a tiny little pumpkin that she has been bringing with us almost everywhere we go!

So Fun!!!

So Cold and so Fun!

Kyla has loved going to the parks despite the cold weather we have been having. We went to Kyla's favorite park near our house the other morning when it was only 30 degrees outside. The slides had a thin layer of ice on them and Kyla had ice all over her bum! The slides were extremely fast and Kyla had so much fun! The next weekend we went to another park and it was still pretty cold, but no ice this time. Kyla has so much fun that she does not even think about the cold. She has bright red cheeks and shivering by the time we leave and we still have to take her to the car kicking and screaming because she is not ready to go.

Halloween Cookies

Halloween Cookie Cutters!

Making Sugar Cookies, Yummy!!!

M&M Cookies!

Decorating our cookies

Lots and Lots of Sprinkles!

Kyla has loved having pancakes in different shapes lately, so I thought she would have fun playing with all of my cookie cutters and making sugar cookies. Kyla helped me mix all the ingredients together, she would pour the pre measured ingredients into the bowl and had her own spoon to help me mix. After letting the dough cool for hours we went to grandma's to finish them up. Kyla enjoyed helping me roll out the dough, cut them into different Halloween shapes and get them on the cookie sheet. But, her favorite part was after we had them frosted she covered them in cute halloween sprinkles. We ended up with a lot of sprinkles, but they were very good!

Dress-up

Kyla has loved getting ready for Halloween. She helped my mom decorate her house for Halloween, she plays with her singing Halloween toys, we read Halloween books, do Halloween art projects and play with Halloween stickers and the best part of all is all the dress-up clothes!!! Kyla has loved dressing up almost every day in different costumes. She has dressed up in tutu's , as a princess, a ballerina, minnie mouse, a super hero cape and mask and batman. She loves dress-up and I have a feeling that most of her costumes will get plenty of use once Halloween passes too!

Little Miss Independent

Kyla has become a very independent little girl lately. She wants to do everything herself, and if you try to help she screams "that's mine, do it myself!". She now picks out all of her clothes and pajamas herself, gets dressed herself, changes her pull up herself, empties her little toilet herself, brushes her teeth herself, picks out her own books at night and holds the flashlight for me to read and so much more by herself!

One day Kyla was dressing herself she decided that she just had to wear two pairs of pants, so she did. The next day she had her mind set on wearing pants and no shirt, I finally talked her into atleast putting on a jacket. As soon as we got to her friends house she took the jacket off and played topless. Other days she decides she wants two shirts, or no pants! She has also really liked to wear tutu's, so luckily we have plenty of tutu's for her to wear with all different types of outfits! She puts together some pretty interesting outfits on some days! And it really takes her awhile to find the right shoes to wear, we often leave the house on a hot sunny day in rainboots or suede sheepskin boots and then wearing sandals or crocs when it is cold and rainy.

We had to move all of Kyla's dishes down to a drawer that she can reach because everytime that we got a plate, bowl or cup out for her she was throwing a fit and saying that she wants "a different one". So now we just tell her to go get a cup, plate... and she goes and does it herself and is much happier.

Trumpette Swans at Potters Marsh

Kyla and I went down to Potter's Marsh to see the swans. We were amazed by how many swans we saw. There were probably somewhere around 100 Trumpette Swans spread out through all the ponds at the marsh. Kyla loved watching them swim and fly around us and did not want to leave even thought it was freezing out and she was shivering so bad. The only way I could finally get her to leave was to promise her we would come back the next day. So, the following day we went back to Potter's Marsh to see them again and show them to Daddy. It was amazing how big and beautiful they are when you are up so close to them. We were told that they are there for a couple of weeks every spring and fall so we will be watching for them again next spring.

Such a Girly Girl...

Such a beautiful girl!

"See you later going shopping, Going to buy two cars!"

Tea Party!

Tea and Cookies!

The prettiest princess ever!

Kyla in her pretty tutu pajamas

Kyla is a very girly little girl, she loves dresses, princesses, purses, unicorns, rainbows, tutu's, jewelry and anything pink! Her favorite books are princess books and pinkilicious books. She loves to play with stickers and draw and paint. She has a great times singing songs and dancing. She asks for pink everything! She gets so excited at the store when we go by anything that is either pink or has princesses on it. Today we were at the store and at the end of an aisle there was one makeup set that was princess lip gloss and nail polish and it caught her eye and she got so excited and had to go grab it. Kyla loves lipstick and chap stick, but it unfortunately does not last long since she likes to stick her finger in it and rub it all over her face.

Lately Kyla has really liked to play dress-up, she will put on her princess dress, ballet dress-up or tutu and find all her jewelery and purses and play. She has decided that she wants to dress up as a princess for Halloween so we were looking at all the princess costumes at target, we saw Cinderella, sleeping beauty, belle, Tinkerbell, Ariel and several other princess costumes, but Kyla did not want any of them. I think we will just have to put together our own princess outfit and she can just be "Princess Kyla".

Kyla also absolutely loves talking on the phone and is getting pretty good at pretend talking to someone. Her favorite person to pretend to talk to is Cinderella. A few nights ago Kyla wanted a ponytail and so I did her hair and she looked in the mirror, I told her she was pretty and she responded "looks beautiful Cinderella says", one of things her princess phone says is "smile you look beautiful!". She also likes to pretend to talk to her cousins and grandparents on the phone.

Another very girly thing she has been into lately is having tea parties. We sit at her little pink table and chair set and drink tea and have cookies. Kyla has a great time during our tea parties and loves when I sit at her tiny table. Kyla drinks real tea, an herbal kids apple cranberry tea and even uses real tea cups, she loves to think she is so grown up.

Winter is almost here...

Kyla loved looking at this rainbow we had in front of the house today!

The first full rainbow Kyla has seen

so beautiful

We have had tons of moose around, Kyla says the "bull moose have funny ears" (Antlers)

Out in the Snow!!!

First snowfall, September 26

Eating peas in the wheel barrow

Showing off all the potatoes

Winter is almost here! Last weekend Kyla and I went and helped my mom finish picking everything in her garden. We dug up all the carrots, picked all the peas, dug up potatoes, onions and beats. We picked her apples and crab apple's, and brought all the tomatoes into her garage to finish ripening. Kyla had a good time helping pick and eat the fruits and vegetables and is really going to miss gardening until next summer. After picking everything in the garden, we woke up the next morning to the first snowfall of the season. Snow in September!!!

Kyla had fun watching the snow come down and getting dressed up in her winter clothes to go outside. The snow did not last long and only stuck for a short time, but we still have snow on the peaks of the mountains behind us and we are looking forward to winter. Kyla is already talking about going skiing, sledding and snowmachining at the cabin, she loves winter and all the fun things that we get to do during the winter.

Fun at the Park

Kyla on the "wiggle slide"

Kyla loves the tunnel slide

Rock climbing

Kyla was climbing this wall all by herself!

Head first down the tunnel slide

Kyla loves to go to the park! We have to drive right by it whenever we are going anywhere and she always asks to stop. She is so funny at the park, she just gets so full of energy and goes full speed the whole time we are there. She climbs up everything and this last time even learned to do the rock climbing wall all by herself. She runs from one slide to the next and just has a blast! It is so fun to see the pure joy and excitement she has when playing!
