Fishing and Snowmachine Riding at the Cabin

Jon, Kyla and I had a fun 3 day weekend up at the cabin with my parents. Kyla had a great time riding around on her snowmachine and was being silly riding her snowmachine standing up, with one hand, with her arms crossed with the opposite hands on the throttle and break, with her feet up.... We also went ice fishing in front of the cabin and caught lots of little fish. Kyla had so much fun playing with the fish eggs and throwing the fish back into the water, she liked the slime! We also went sledding and she got to play with two of her cabin friends. As always she didn't want to leave the cabin when it was time to go, but we think we will go back next week again.

Playtime at Kyla's Favorite Parks

We are enjoying Spring and the warmer temperatures (mid 30's to low 40's), and have been spending lots of time playing at the parks. Kyla has two parks that she especially loves, the a-moose-ment park and the Eagle River Park, and we visited both of them this week with Ethan and Ella.

Kyla's Ready for the Easter Bunny

Kyla is very ready for the Easter Bunny to come even though we still have a full month until it is actually Easter. We have the house decorated for Easter and the Easter Eggs are out and we have already had about a dozen easter egg hunts. This weekend Kyla had an idea to actually fill every single easter egg with toys from her room, then she had me pretend to be the Easter Bunny and hide them and four Easter Baskets with stuffed Bunnies in them. After she found the eggs and organized them by size in the different baskets she had her bunnies open the eggs. In all it probably took about three hours to play this! Funny girl, she has a good imagination!

Finger Lake Fishing Derby

Kyla and Daddy rode the snowmachine over to Finger Lake and I met them over there to do a Ice Fishing Derby. The weather was not very nice, it was cold and windy, so we did not last long. Kyla fished for about an hour with no luck. We headed home for lunch and to warm up and then went back again to try for another hour or so. Kyla did not even get a single bite, but we had fun anyway. We stayed for the award ceremony and Kyla was pretty happy to get a participation ribbon. The Fish Derby raised $11,000 for Make A Wish Foundation.

Cold Stone Field Trip

Kyla's Pre School class went on a field trip to Cold Stone Ice Cream to celebrate the class reading 300 books. They had a very fun field trip and got to go in the back to see the freezers, they got to watch them make ice cream in the machine and they even got to all make their own ice cream, Kyla and her friend Mallory both had Blue Cotton Candy Ice Cream with Sprinkes and gummy bears and loved it!!!

Dr. Seuss Party at School

Kyla's Preschool had a Dr. Seuss Party to celebrate his birthday. They got to weat pajamas to school and bring a pillow and blanket to watch the Lorax and Green Eggs and Ham. They also read Dr. Seuss books, made Oobleck, made Dr. Seuss hats. ate green eggs and ham and had Lorax cupcakes. They had such a great time at school!

First day of Swim Lessons

Learning how to swim

Kyla has really enjoyed swimming lessons, she just finished her first session and is going to start back up this week. She loves the water, just can't stand getting her face wet. She is doing a great job kicking her legs and floating and is getting more and more comfortable in the water, she also really likes her swim instructor and the kids in her class.

We are also starting to go swimming more together, Kyla and I have been going to H20asis indoor water park to the parent toddler swim, and Jon just went with us there for his first time and had a great time.
